Test of Flip Folio set ( Cover and Keyboard )
Recently, I've primarily used my iPad Air (4th generation) for reading, watching videos, and doing some light note-taking and web browsing. While it's not the latest model, it meets all my needs at a reasonable price and handles everything from document editing to checking emails smoothly. During a visit to London, I explored various iPad keyboards, including Apple Originals, which are high-quality but expensive.
Today, I decided to test the FliP Folio Set (Cover stand and Keyboard from Logi). I am writing this review on the Keyboard. My main motivation came from a conversation I had at the Apple Store on Regent Street in London, where a Seller told me at that time the iPad Air or Pro could be an alternative to the MacBook. I partly agree with the seller today.
For many tasks, such as writing, checking social media, browsing, basic photo editing, and light video editing, the iPad and this Logi FliP Folio set work quite well. I was able to comfortably edit documents, respond to emails, and take notes without any issues. The Keyboard links seamlessly via Bluetooth, and the typing experience is comfortable for longer periods. The keyboard offers a comfortable typing experience, and I have not experienced noticeable lag or missed keystrokes. However, since it connects via Bluetooth, it can pair with up to three devices at once, which sets it apart from many other folio models, according to a review from RTINGS.com. There are some limitations to be aware of. More demanding tasks, like advanced video editing, running desktop-class apps, working with large spreadsheets, or multitasking with several apps at once, can feel more constrained on a Chromebook than on a MacBook. Also, the keyboard lacks a backlight, making it hard to use in dim-light conditions. The cover is sturdy, and the kickstand is quite nice, but the magnetic closure is not as strong as the Apple Original's, so the folio may sometimes open when you are carrying it in a crowded bag. (Chérubin et al., 2025) The set is priced better than the Apple Original, which adds to its value for everyday, non-intensive use. (Logitech Flip Folio Keyboard Case for 13-inch iPad Air and iPad Pro, 2024)
I strongly recommend the Logi set. The product is solid, and the Keyboard delivers a reliable typing experience. That being said, there are a few small drawbacks that are worth noting: the keyboard lacks a backlight, which can make it hard to use in low-light settings, and the magnetic closure is not as strong as the Apple version, so the folio may open if you are carrying it in a crowded bag. At Basket, we confidently endorse this set for anyone seeking quality and value, as its strengths far outweigh these minor inconveniences.
